Performance Review
| Category | Grade |
|---|---|
| Looks | A |
| Sound/Feel | A |
| Distance | A+ |
| Forgiveness | A |
| Flight/Playability | A |
| Value | B |
Looks: (A) Perfect for game improvement irons. Bigger heads with chunky toplines and soles that inspire confidence. I dig this design approach – Callaway’s been using it across their Apex lineup and it works.
Sound/Feel: (A) Excellent. Soft and solid impact with no harsh vibrations. Way better than expected for this category.
Distance: (A+) Explosive on pure contact and still strong on mishits.
Forgiveness: (A) Solid forgiveness that doesn’t feel punishing on off-center hits. You get appropriate feedback based on how bad you missed it.
Flight/Playability: (A) Default to high and straight flight, but I could still work my usual slight draw with them.
Value: (B) Around $200 per stick. Pricey for game improvement irons, but that’s becoming standard these days.
My Experience with the Ai300s
Range Sessions – 1
Launch Monitor sessions – 2
Rounds of Golf – 1
Didn’t take long to figure these irons out.
First hole of my testing round, I’m in light rough 148 yards out with a front pin. Haven’t even hit these on the range yet.
Grabbed the pitching wedge and made decent contact. Ball exploded out of the rough, flew high, landed just left of the pin, and stuck.
Came out of the rough like it was sitting on a tee and had enough spin to stop next to the flag.
Bottom line: If you’re shopping for game improvement irons, these deserve a serious look.
